Libernetix is a tech-driven financial company from Estonia that provides payment gateway and acquiring services to businesses of all sizes.
Goals
One of the key objectives for the Libernetix marketing team was to gain a clear understanding of user behavior on the website and accurately measure the effectiveness of different acquisition channels.
The team also shared their plans to update the website to better address user needs.
At the start of the analytics project, RocketScience conducted a comprehensive audit of the existing setup and developed a list of recommendations aimed at strengthening analytics both in the short term and after the website relaunch.
A key question was when to implement the analytics configuration—before or after the redesign. Ultimately, we decided to set up a baseline tracking system for the current website version. This would allow Libernetix to clearly compare how performance and user behavior evolve after the update—including form submissions, landing page scroll depth, and engagement with key content.
Working Process
We began by updating and organizing the existing analytics setup, migrating Google Analytics 4 and Consent Mode configurations into Google Tag Manager (GTM)—which hadn’t been used previously. GTM simplifies workflows for analysts and removes unnecessary workload from developers.
We also enabled additional Google Analytics 4 features to unlock the platform’s full potential, including demographic reporting, extended data retention, and test traffic filtering.
The next key step was to develop a structured event and parameter tracking plan—covering metrics relevant for both the current website and its future redesign. This included tracking:
- Interactions with different types of forms (view, start, submission attempt, successful submission);
- Landing page views;
- Scroll depth on key content sections;
- And more.
Using GTM, we implemented synchronized event tracking for Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads conversions.
Based on these GA4 events, we also built custom audiences—making it easier to analyze data in reports and to target engaged website visitors through Google Ads campaigns.
The Results
- The Libernetix team now has reliable website performance data to guide the upcoming redesign and to compare the results of the old and new versions.
- The analytics structure was aligned with industry best practices, reaching the “gold standard” level. To ensure continuity after the relaunch, it will be enough to simply install the GTM code on the new website.The Consent Management Platform is now fully operational and compliant with GDPR requirements, minimizing any risk of regulatory penalties. All Google tools correctly respect user tracking preferences and consent settings.
